OSCOTECH COUNCIL CHAIRMAN MEETS ALUMNI EXECUTIVE MEMBERS, REITERATES THAT NO COLLEGE PROGRAMME WILL BE MOVED OUT OF ESA OKE CAMPUS.

The Governing Council Chairman of Osun State College of Technology Esa-Oke, Prince Diran Odeyemi has reaffirmed that all the programmes run by the institution will remain within the Campus at Esa-Oke.

Prince Odeyemi stated this while holding a crucial meeting with the Executive members of the Alumni Association of the College on Wednesday 21st February, 2024. He affirmed that the issue of establishing a Satellite Campus for the institution has been cancelled because of the controversy it generated. Prince Odeyemi who tendered unreserved apology to all the people who felt offended by the then council's decision, stated that the idea was born out of the zeal to further expand the institution. He congratulated the Alumni Excos on their election, he urged them to reach out to others who are still aggrieved in one way or the other.

The Rector, Dr. Samson Akinbamide Omobayo Adegoke corroborated the Chairman, according to him , the foundation of the Mass Communication building will be laid in the College at Esa-Oke in March, 2024. He hinted that Mass Communication which has been unbundled into three programmes will have a separate Faculty when it is finally approved by the NBTE. Dr. Adegoke described Prince Odeyemi as a man who has passion for developing the College, he recounted how he facilitated the State Government's financial Support towards the accreditation exercise in 2023 and how he was able to settle the misunderstanding within the Alumni which culminated in them having a successful and peaceful election.

Furthermore, Prince Odeyemi has maintained peaceful relationship with the Management, Staff and Students of the College.

Rector Adegoke maintained that Alumni Association is a critical stakeholder in any institution, he appealed to the College Alumni to reach out to others to fund their institution. He mentioned that the College has Alumni that are doing very well all over the world; he appealed to them to support the College.

OSCOTECH Alumni had sought audience with the Chairman to discuss issues pertinent to peace and progress of the institution . The Alumni National President, Hon. Adewale Afolabi who led other members of the Alumni Executive members appreciated the Chairman for granting them audience and also for his courage to accede to the wish of the people. He described Prince Diran Odeyemi as a lover of peace who has a burning passion to develop OSCOTECH.

The Alumni Excos stated that they are convinced that the issue pertaining to the establishment of Satellite Campus for OSCOTECH has been laid to rest, having heard directly from Prince Odeyemi. They promised to keep supporting the College Administration. They urged Prince Odeyemi to help present their request of upgrading OSCOTECH into a University of Technology to the Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
