TETFUND COMMISSIONS TWO PROJECTS AT OSCOTECH, COMMENDS COLLEGE MANAGEMENT FOR PRUDENT EXECUTION.

Two projects by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETfund) were on Monday 4th December, 2023 commissioned at the Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke. The projects are One storey office Technology and Management Building; and 600- Seater Capacity Auditorium, both of the 2017-2019 (Merged) Annual lntervention.

The projects were commissioned by the Senator representing Osun East Senatorial district, Senator Adenigba Francis Fadahunsi on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Senator Fadahunsi commended the conscious efforts made by the Executive Secretary of TETFUND, Arc. Sonny S.T Echono and his team for effectively upholding TETfund mandate of effective discharge of fund to public Tertiary lnstitutions towards the provision of physical infrastructure, support for academic researches, staff training and information Communication Technology (ICT). He also lauded the College Management under the leadership of the Rector. Dr. Samson Akinbamide Omobayo Adegoke for making sure that the projects conform with the standard and for their completion within the stipulated time.

TETfund Executive Secretary, Arc. Sonny S.T Echono, whose speech was delivered by the TETfund Director of Human Resources, Mr. Okunola Kolapo expressed pleasure at the commissioning the two projects which he said are part of the over Seventy (70) projects commissioned already in Seventeen (17) beneficiary institutions across Eleven (11) States in Nigeria this year . Arc. Echono commended the efforts of the College Management, for satisfactorily completing the projects. He noted that the Management doggedly executed these projects at a total cost of # 361,232,123.88. According to him, financing of projects by TETfund are clear demonstration of the Federal Government's commitment to the provision of the requisite infrastructure in the nation's public Tertiary Institution, in line with the" Renewed Hope" agenda of the President.

The Rector, Dr. S.A.O Adegoke expressed delight at the commissioning of the two projects, he is particularly happy that the projects were completed at stipulated time despite the challenges poised by the lockdown occasioned by COVID-19 pandemic during the period of their execution. Rector Adegoke said that due process was followed when the contracts were awarded. The projects were timely because NBTE just granted the College approval to commence additional four new programmes. With steady academic growth, there must be must also be infrastructural growth to take care of expansion of programmes. Dr. Adegoke appreciated the state Governor, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke for providing an enabling environment for the institution to thrive, and also for his moral and financial support at all times.

OSCOTECH Governing Council Chairman, Prince Diran Odeyemi who was flanked by other members of the council appreciated Senator Fadahunsi for accepting to come and perform the commissioning ceremony despite his tight schedule. Prince Odeyemi Called for more Federal Government Presence in the college. He said that OSCOTECH as an institution can favourably compete with any Tertiary Institution in Nigerian and globally. He affirmed that the College parade highly skilled professionals, who are capable of providing the much needed technological breakthrough Nigeria needed, if provided with modern facilities and equipment.

Dignitaries at the occasion include State Commissioner of Education, Honourable Eluwole Sunday Adedipo; Special Assistant to the Governor on Education, Hon. Teniola Lanlehin; Director, Higher Education, Bursary and Scholarship, Mrs. T.A Samuel; and the Director, Quality Assurance, Senior Secondary Education, Mr. Osunwusi A.A. Also present are political office holders and technocrats. The Owamiran of Esa-Oke, His Royal Highness, Oba Adeyemi Adediran Akanbi, Atipa Owaji ll and other traditional rulers graced the occasion.
