OSCOTECH INAUGURATES STUDENTS UNION GOVERNMENT FOR 2023/2024 ACADEMIC SESSION.

The Executive members of the Students Union Government and the Students Representative Council of the Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke for 2023/2024 Academic Session was on Monday 20th November, 2023 inaugurated by the College authority.

The elected Students Leaders were presented to the Chairman Governing Council and the Management by the Dean Students' Affairs, Mr. S.A Adewumi. ” style=

The Governing Council Chairman, Prince Diran Odeyemi, having congratulated the representative of the students, noted that Students Union and Alumni Association are both vital components of Tertiary Education. They have to be well organized to successfully perform their function as the bridge between the students body and the College administration. ” style=Prince Odeyemi urged the Students Leaders to foster an environment of inclusiveness and exhibit mutual respect for all. He further advised the students to be proactive in addressing challenges by contacting the school authority before embarking on any form of action, according to him, " ALUTA should not be about destruction but discussion'. Students Leaders much adhere strictly to the virtues of excellence, integrity and commitment to the pursuit of knowledge.

The Rector, Dr. S.A.O Adegoke also congratulated the Students Leaders. He pointed out that their being elected is an opportunity to serve their colleagues; likewise, they have the responsibility to defend the College as its ambassadors. He noted that the position of a Union Leader comes with a lot of burdens, because they are held responsible for other students' action. The Rector finally advised the Students Leaders to remain focus on the goal of giving quality representative to the students; shun acts that can jeopardize their future plans such as cultism, fraud and drug abuse.

” style= The oath of office was administered on the Students' Executive members by the Registrar, Mr. S.O Popoola. Other members of the Management present at the occasion are the Deputy Rector, Mrs Cecilia Kehide ljitona; the Bursar, Mr. J.O Makinde and the Coordinator of Works and Services, Engr. B. T Owolawi. Also present are the Special Assistant to the Rector on Entrepreneurship and Vocational Skills Acquisition, Engr. Edward Ojo; Deputy Dean, Students Affairs ESV Sonibare Kayode and the Deputy Registrar Students Affairs, Mrs. C K Oyedeji.
