Brief History
Welcome to the Faculty of Communication and Information Technology (FCIT), Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke. It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the official webpage of the Faculty of Communication and Information Technology (FCIT), one of the foremost academic faculties of Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke (OSCOTECH).
Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke was established on 12 October 1992 when the enabling law was signed by the first Executive Governor of Osun State, Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke, making the institution autonomous from its earlier status as a satellite campus of the Polytechnic, Ibadan.

Faculty of Communication and Information Technology (FCIT) at Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke was created in 2019 as part of the College’s academic expansion. This occurred when the management obtained approval from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for additional programmes, increasing the number of faculties in the institution to five (5).
Programmes offered at the National Diploma are: Computer Science; Multimedia Technology; Library and Information Science; Office Technology and Management; and Mass Communication. At the Higher National Diploma, the following programmes are offered: Software and Web Development; Networking and Cloud Computing; Cyber Security and Data Protection; Artificial Intelligence; Film and Multimedia Production; Library and Information Science; and Office Technology and Management.
Our Faculty is committed to providing quality technological education that prepares students to become competent professionals, innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders in the ever-evolving fields of communication, media, and information technology. We strive to create a learning environment that combines academic excellence with practical experience, enabling our graduates to compete successfully in today's digital and knowledge-driven economy.
At FCIT, we recognize that technology is transforming every aspect of society. Consequently, our academic programmes are designed in line with the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) curriculum and are continuously enriched to reflect current industry practices and emerging technologies. Through modern teaching methodologies, practical laboratory sessions, industrial training, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship development, we equip our students with the knowledge, technical skills, and professional values required to excel in their chosen careers.
Our Faculty is blessed with dedicated and highly qualified academic, technical, and administrative staff who are passionate about mentoring students and promoting excellence in teaching, research, and community service.
