#15 MILLION SOLAR STREET LIGHTS PROJECT COMMISSIONED AT OSCOTECH, ESA-OKE.

Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke on Wednesday 21st August played host to creme de la creme of dignitaries in the society. The occasion was the commissioning and handling over of #15 Million Solar Powered Street Lights Project, initiated and executed by the Esa-Oke Renewal Initiatives (ERI) in collaboration with Cedrus Group Africa.

The Chairman of Esa-Oke Renewal Initiative, Prince Wumi Adeniyi in his address recounted previous interventions by Esa-Oke community in OSCOTECH to include provision of land and provision of transformer when the College was facing power problem. He lauded the leadership style of the Chairman, Board of Trustees of ERI, TPL Ayo Adediran whom he described as a selfless contributor and a force behind the implementation of the project.

The Rector, Dr. Samson Akinbamide Omobayo Adegoke in an address delivered at the occasion expressed the Management's appreciation to the donors. He lauded them for promptly responding positively towards solving one of the challenges facing the College. He encouraged ERI to further help the College by building more infrastructure on Campus. Governing Council Chairman, Prince Diran Odeyemi thanked Esa-Oke Community for illuminating the campus and for peacefully coexisting with staff and students of the institution. He however pleaded with them to do more, because the college needs more facilities, as more programmes are being added to the already existing programmes in the College.

Among dignitaries that graced the occasion are the State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Sunday Adedipo Eluwole; Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi (Irekandu); Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education Mr. M.A.K Jimoh; Chief Executive Officer of CEDRUS Group Africa, Prince Busayo Adeniyi; Ogboni of Esa-Oke, High Chief Abimbola Olamiju; Deputy Rector, Mrs Cecilia Kehinde Ijitona; Registrar, Mr. S.O Popoola; Bursar, Mr. J.O Makinde; Head of Library, Mr. Soji Omirin and the Coordinator of Works and Services, Engr. B.T Owolawi. Others include representatives of Alumni and Students Union.

The project was unveiled by the Osun State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Sunday Adedipo Eluwole in the presence of the Owamiran of Esa-Oke, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adeyemi Akanbi Adediran, Atipa Owaji II as the Royal father of the day. ESV. Dosu Fatokun , the ASIWAJU OF Esa-Oke presided as the chairman of the day.
