The much anticipated Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Exhibition, tagged (TIE) Expo 2024, has begun in the premises of the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC) , Ile Awiye, Oke Baale Osogbo on Monday 10th June 2024.
Though the Exhibition started on Monday, the Opening Ceremony was however held on Tuesday 11th June 2024. The opening ceremony was well attended by political functionaries and Exhibitors.
Dignitaries at the ceremony include the Osun State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Sunday Eluwole; Osun State Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, Hon. Maruf Olatunji Ayofe; Hon. Commissioner for Commerce and Industries, Reverend Bunmi Jenyo; Chairman OSCOTECH Governing Council, Prince Diran Odeyemi; Chairman, Board of Directors of OSBC, Hon. Mayowa Olosho; Special Assistant to the Governor on School Monitoring, Hon. Akin Ajetomobi; Hon. Taofeek Olayiwola from Ede South Constituency; the Rector OSCOTECH Esa-Oke, Dr. Samson Akinbamide Omobayo Adegoke; the Director General/Permanent Secretary OSBC, Mrs. Jolaade Igbaroola; OSCOTECH Deputy Rector, Mrs Kehinde Ijitona; the Registrar, Mr. S.O Popoola; the Bursar Mr. J. O Makinde; as well as Deans, Directors and Students from the College.Others include Honourables from the State House of assembly , friends and well wishers of the College.
The Chairman Governing Council, Prince Diran Odeyemi, in his Keynote Address lauded the Management of the College for putting up the Exhibition. He stated further that he is convinced, the Exhibition will showcase the latest cutting -edge solutions, groundbreaking products, and revolutionary ideas that are at pal with international standards. Prince Odeyemi, having lauded the pragmatic efforts of Governor Ademola Adeleke at developing the state, said the College can partner with the State Government to provide traffic lights on all roads in Osun State if the Government can give the institution the opportunity.
Dr. Adegoke while delivering the Exhibition lecture titled "Empowering Today's Youth for Tomorrow's World Through Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship', appealed to the government at all levels to work together to create a world where every youth has the opportunity to succeed. A world where technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship are not just buzzwords, but a way of life.
Dignitaries at the end of the opening ceremony, toured round the Exhibition ground where products from the College and from other exhibitors were on display. Some of the products on display were Yam Pounding Machine, Mobile Popcorn Making Machine, RFID Based Automatic Gate Lock system, Manual Soap Cutting Machine just to mention a few.
The closing ceremony of the Exhibition is to be held on Friday 14th June, 2024. Moreover, the training part of the Expo will commence at the Entrepreneurship Skills Acquisition Centre, Dagbolu from 24th June through 5th July, 2024.
