OSUN BUREAU OF SOCIAL SERVICES PAYS A WORKING VISIT TO OSCOTECH.

The Management of the Osun State College of Technology Esa-Oke, on Thursday 6th June 2024 received a high power delegation from the Osun State Bureau of Social Services, Osogbo.

The Team which was led by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on the Bureau, Hon. Akintunde Bello Sheriff, also had in it delegation the Director of Administration and Supplies, Mr. Adewale Adebiyi Fayoyiwa and Mrs. Bashirat Adenike Ibitoye.

Honourable Akintunde Bello Sheriff who Heads the bureau said that the purpose of their visit is to look at ways the Bureau can collaborate with the institution. He expressed satisfaction with the rapid development attained by OSCOTECH particularly as witnessed during the Adeleke led administration.

Bureau of Social Services is saddled with the responsibility of supervising and monitoring of State Government's interventions and services in Parastatals and Agencies of Government.

He started further that the Bureau ensures that Government gets value for every dime spent on projects.

The Bureau looks at urgent issues and problems, proffers solutions and reports directly to the Governor.

The Rector Dr. Samson Akinbamide Omobayo Adegoke who was flanked by other Members of the Management thanked the visitors. He gave a long list of achievements recorded in the college.

Dr. Adegoke however listed some problems currently being encountered by the College to include, Paucity of fund, bad road network within the Campus and shortage of staff because the Government has not recruited for a long time.The Rector appealed to the Federal and State Governments to accord equal attention to both University and Polytechnic Education.

He observed that if Polytechnics are funded like the Universities, the Country will witness tremendous Technological growth. He expressed optimism that the bureau will assist in echoing these constraints to the appropriate quarters of the Government for speedy solutions.

The Deputy Rector, Mrs Cecilia Kehinde Ijitona, on behalf of the Chairman Governing Council, Prince Diran Odeyemi, Council Members, Management, Staff and Students of the College thanked the visitors.

Also in attendance are the Registrar, Mr. Samuel Olufemi Popoola; the Bursar, Mr. Olusegun Makinde; the Coordinator of Works, Engr. Owolawi B.T; the Coordinator of Library, Mr. A. O Ayoola; the Dean of Students Affairs, Mr. S.A Adewumi; Directors, some Heads of departments and staff.
